January 21, 2009 - Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. Announces Plans for
Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME Crimson Crisis Retailer Sneak Peek

Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Sneak Peeks to be Held at Hobby Stores

El Segundo, CA – (January 21, 2009) – Looking to build lasting relationships with hobby stores nationally, Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (KDE) has put in motion a plan to hold Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME sneak peek events beginning with the soon-to-be released Crimson Crisis booster set. Crimson Crisis (MSRP $3.99 per nine-card pack) will first be released at hobby stores participating in KDE's sneak peek extravaganza on either February 28 or March 1, depending on the store's preference. The Crimson Crisis booster set will be available nationwide at those hobby stores not participating in the sneak peek event and retailers on March 3.

"Crimson Crisis is the perfect booster set for hobby store owners to bring Duelists into their establishments for the sneak peek events as it introduces new cards used by Yusei, Jack and Aki in addition to the mega powerful Assault Mode monsters," commented Yumi Hoashi, Vice President of Card Business for Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. "Crimson Crisis also includes a Red Dragon Archfield/Assault Mode card which allows Duelists to upgrade their decks to the more powerful assault mode."

KDE has created kits specifically for store owners hosting Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG sneak peek events. Each kit includes:

Support for 16 players

96 packs - five packs to build with and one extra for participating

16 Duelist participation cards - Colossal Fighter/Assault Mode promotional card – while supplies last

Four foldable deck boxes – top two players will receive a box and two will randomly be given away during the event

Official letter from KDE thanking each player for participating

Instruction sheet – tips for conducting sneak peek tournaments and best ways to distribute prizes and participant payment options

"Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc.'s sneak peek will make it easier for hobby stores to market themselves as the best place for Duelists to get their Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG products supplies," added KDE's Hoashi. "Retailers interested in hosting a Yu-Gi-Oh! Crimson Crisis TRADING CARD GAME sneak peek should contact KDE customer support at 310-220-8630 or us-cardsupport@konami.com."

Crimson Crisis establishes the all-new Assault Mode monsters and Synchro Monsters which can be transformed to Assault Mode, making them incredible fighting forces with massive attack points and potent effects. This all new 100-card booster set will improve any Duelist's collection with the new Synchro Monsters, Tuners, and new themes like the Dark "Blackwing" monsters. Duelists everywhere beware because the onslaught of Crimson Crisis is drawing near! Each box contains 24 packs.

Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Crimson Crisis set information:
100-card complete set
Collect 48 Common Cards (8:1)
20 Rare Cards (1:1)
14 Super Rare Cards (1:5)

Yu-Gi-Oh! Champion Packs Orders Go Unfilled

Konami Fails to Release Product

North Las Vegas, NV (January 13, 2009) — Upper Deck regrets to announce that hobby tournament stores nationwide will not receive their orders of Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME Champion Packs.  Despite contractual obligations, Konami Digital Entertainment failed to send the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Champion Packs to Upper Deck for distribution to hobby stores.

Keeping the best interests of Yu-Gi-Oh! players and retailers in mind, Upper Deck has maintained business as usual during this uncertain time, fulfilling orders and shipping product to retailers so that Duelists can continue to enjoy the game.  Unfortunately, Konami Digital has not released the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Champion Packs to Upper Deck, despite having received the order on time several months ago, rendering Upper Deck unable to fill orders from hobby stores.

Upper Deck regrets that the Yu-Gi-Oh! community is being denied this product, but encourages players to continue to support their local hobby store. Please stay tuned to UDE.com for information about upcoming events.
