Promotional Card Release 1/16/2008 - Shonen Jump Limited Edition 1

Shonen Jump has begun sending out a pack of 4 promotional cards to readers that submitted coupons via the Shonen Jump magazine. These 4 cards are tournament legal for all events.

Blast Sphere
Machine/Effect
If your opponent's monster attacks this face-down Defense Position card, this card becomes an Equip Card equipped to the attacking monster, without applying damage calculation. Destroy the equipped monster and this card during the Standby Phase of your opponent's next turn, and inflict damage to your opponent equal to the equipped monster's ATK.

Copycat
Spellcaster/Effect
When this card is Normal Summoned, Flip Summoned, or Special Summoned, select 1 monster your opponent controls. This card's ATK and DEF become equal to the selected monster's original ATK and DEF.

Relieve Monster
Normal Trap Card
Activate only when your opponent declares an attack. Return 1 monster you control to its owner's hand, then Special Summon 1 Level 4 monster from your hand.

Cloning
Normal Trap Card
Activate only when your opponent Normal Summons or Flip Summons a monster. Special Summon 1 "Clone Token" that has the same original Level, Type, Attribute, ATK, and DEF as the Summoned monster. When that monster is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, destroy this token.

Tournament Policy and Appendix A updates

Hi Everyone,

We just uploaded a new version of the Tournament Policy and Appendix A documents.

Changes include:

Tournament Policy

- Cleaned up outdated info (references to very old Yu-Gi-Oh! ID system; experience points section; MANTIS 1.0 references; options for sanctioning/reporting via fax and mail)

- Restrictions on who can play in sanctioned tournaments are a bit friendlier to allow more of our business partners to participate in tournaments.

- Pre-game shuffling now includes one additional cut. This was added to combat methods of cheating with the final cut.

- Added an "assume" rule when determining who goes first in a game. Determining who goes first in a game is now friendlier to players.

- Note taking has been unified across all our games.

- Explicitly stated that players aren't allowed to receive outside assistance from players or from pre-game notes during a game.

Appendix A

- Tournament ratings section was removed. Tournament ratings are the same across all of our games and are already explained in the Tournament Policy document.

- Note taking section was removed. Note taking is now the same across all UDE games and is explained in the Tournament Policy document.

- Team dueling rules were updated. These updates include minor edits to clean up the language; seatings in a team match now must match MANTIS seatings; and clarification of how to interpert cards that use "you control" templating.
